I hope today has been a wonderful day for you!  Testing is in our schedule for the rest of the week, so posts will be short.  But I know things are going just fine in your home.  Remember, deep breath!!!   TM : )

I'm grateful that our state doesn't require that we do testing. Our family does the placement tests that come with our math (which Nique passed with flying colors :) ) but they state that it's more of an exit test rather then a placement test. Next year we'll probably buy one of those prep test books for her. My husband just feels more comfortable with us homeschooling if she can pass the "tests", even though homeschooling was initially his idea lol

Because I homeschool through the county and I'm not considered a "real" homeschooler (lol), we are required to take the tests. We can opt out, well, only if you know about it, most people don't know, but I've used the results to help me know where I am in teaching my kids.

I shouldn't care, the tests are so inconsistent and truly, when does any possible future employers ask, "So how did you do on your 2nd grade STAR testing? I have mixed feelings about testing.
