So I wrote a post the other day asking if you were ready.  But am I?  The answer is........ NO!  It must be the way I do things, I'm very lax about how I go about teaching my kids.  This drives people who have a schedule CRAZY!  I know I should be a little more structured, but this seems to work for us.  But times are changing and this year my oldest will be in 7th grade.  SOoooo, I plan on being, well, more timely?  Maybe more organized?  I'm holding my breath while writing this, but I'll keep you posted.  In the meanwhile, what works for you?  Have any suggestions for me?  Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by.   TM : )

I know you will manage quite well, Tracy, whatever you choose to do! : )

I very roughly map out the school year work at the beginning of each year. I'm not doing the day-to-day details (I'm just not THAT organized) but I divide the work load into months so I can figure out what has to be finished by the end of each month and then stick to it no matter what. Keeps us on track even if I don't have a day-to-day (and definitely not an hour-to-hour) plan. We seem to finish what we need to finish each session. Usually. Ok, not always. But mostly...

By the way, what's the deal with so many textbooks being 12 chapters long? The school year is 10 months long since you have 2 months off for summer, (assuming one takes off 2 months in the summer). It makes scheduling tricky. Doing 1.2 chapters each month seems silly. ; )
