Homeschool
 
To keep the homeschool community a close one, remember to say "hi" to a new face and introduce yourself.  Making others feel welcome is the first step to making a community that already feels like home to you, a place for the new homeschooling families to call home for them as well.  TM : )

These are important words! When we first started, we attended a couple of "duds" of homeschool events where not a single person smiled or said "Hi" to us. I suppose they already formed their own cliques and were not interested in making an effort to welcome the newcomers. Or perhaps they were suspicious of newcomers, who knows. I just know it was darned awkward!

I am so glad we persevered and continued to attend homeschool events because we found some of the warmest, kindest friends in the process!
