Great subject! I homeschool and also have a small, home business. Just yesterday, I had a job fall into my lap that prevented me from working with my son. Did it matter? Actually, for just one day, nope. My son did a terrific job working on all the material he is able to do on his own. Today, we will focus on the items he needs more help with. That's the beauty of homeschool in regards to time: flexibility!

I've taught Time Management before--back when I had to work--and it's funny, you can certainly manage time pretty easily with the right calendar and system (and a bunch of discipline)--but time management involving children we'd like to nurture into self-thinking, authentic, passionate, inquiring, achieving human beings is FAAAAAAAAAAAR more challenging. This is when the lines are blurred so incoherently that we begin to feel crazy. It is in this space that we can celebrate the fact that we have left the "world's" standards behind and begun to find our own. Our children will still be "marred" by our definition of what their lives should look like...but hopefully they will at some point realize that we have merely given them wings. The journey is theirs to navigate...
