Aloha A Hui Hou 05/12/2011
This is harder to write than I thought. Over the past months (I don't want to say years because I haven't gotten to year number 2 yet) I hope that I have inspired, encouraged, made you laugh and most importantly, made you feel that you could do anything... you're a homeschool Super Mom after all! I will be taking a long and very needed break from posting on AskTracy. With summer around the corner, I figured this is the perfect time to do it. Mahalo for all your comments and wonderful emails and especially to those of you who visit me everyday. You know who you are! If you need to contact me, you still can by sending me a note through my comment section somewhere on this site, I think it's in in the Who? section. Have a wonderful summer, and I leave you with this quote from a famous part-time homeschooler... "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." - Albert Einstein 4 Comments Birthday Reflections 04/29/2011
My oldest is 13 today! He is smart, and smart, and did I mention that he's smart? My children's birthdays are always a day of reflection for me. I often wonder how my kids are doing and if I'm doing the right thing for them by homeschooling. As I type those words down and I see them written in front of me, it seems so silly that I even have those thoughts. Silly or not, as I reread what I just wrote, I AM doing the right thing homeschooling my children and so are you. We can see it with each and every birthday, not just how much they've grown physically, but how much they've grown intellectually. I guess there is no wondering when you can see growth with your own eyes. TM : ) Count Down... 10, 9, 8 08/09/2010
Okay, so I really do have more then 8 days to go before my first day of school. Well, the first "official" day of school. But you know, school is everyday. There are no breaks from learning, that's why learning should be fun. So what's with the count down? I think I'm preparing myself mentally to get it together for my kids. I will, and it will be good, ... 7, 6, 5... TM : ) Summer is on my Mind 05/19/2010
What to do about summer break, hmmm... I'm thinking about why I started this blog. I started it to encourage homeschool families. To make you feel that you're not the only one and to have someone understand what you are going through. To let you know that you can do it, that homeschool is a lifestyle and worth every effort that you put into your kids. I bring this up as the school year is almost over and I'm not sure what to do about this blog for the summer. This is my first blog and I'm not a pro at it quite yet. I'm not done with it, just thinking out loud & online. So in the meanwhile, keep teaching your children to be the best they can be. And keep remembering that you are the best teacher to help them achieve this task. TM : ) | E Komo Mai
