The Greenhouse Project 02/02/2011
This quote somehow resonates with me. OH, maybe it's because that's what we do everyday when we homeschool our kids... building greenhouses! Gotta love it. TM : ) You cannot define talent. All you can do is build the greenhouse and see if it grows. - Willian P. Steven 3 Comments Quote of the Day 01/26/2011
To the uneducated, an A is just three sticks. - Winnie the Pooh I Like this Quote 01/19/2011
"Never, never, never give up!" Winston Churchill Quote of the Day 01/13/2011
Saw this quote and knew it was perfect for our day... TM : ) We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. - Aristotle Quote of the Day 12/15/2010
I like this quote... “The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.” Tom Bodett quotes TM : ) Friday Quote of the Day 12/03/2010
I saw this quote and I just had to share. Curriculum for today... Treat the earth well, It was not given to you by your parents, It was loaned to you by your children. -Indian Proverb Have a wonderful weekend! TM : ) What do YOU say in the Morning? 05/12/2010
Can you believe it? I'm up before my kids this morning! I'm going to do this more often as this is a great way to start the day, well, we'll see tomorrow when the bed is feeling oh so snugly! But for today, there is a feeling like, well... Pooh (Bear). So with that feeling I give you one of Pooh's (my favorite) quote for today. Have a great day teaching your kids to be the Best they can be! TM : ) "When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "what's the first thing you say to yourself?" "What's for breakfast?" said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?" "I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.Pooh nodded thoughtfully."It's the same thing," he said.AA Milne Manners... Does it Matter? 04/13/2010
Manners. What happened to them in our adult lives? We teach our children to say please and thank you. We teach our children to be kind and respectful. We teach them to be polite, but do we as adults practice this as well? Think about it, when a complete stranger holds the door open for you, do you say, "Thank you"? And doesn't it put a smile on your face when someone is being thoughtful? Or what about when you hold the door open for a complete stranger, do they say, "thank you" to you? And when they don't, you notice. I do. Sometimes I feel like screaming, "Hey, a THANK YOU would be nice!" But I don't, and after reading this quote, I know why... TM : ) Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you - not because they are nice, but because you are. ~Author Unknown Pooh Bear's Wise Words 03/22/2010
I hope you had a great weekend and you are feeling refreshed and ready to start a new week of teaching. Every Monday I feel a little bit like Pooh Bear. One of Pooh's favorite sayings is, "What's for breakfast?" In other words, I wonder what's going to happen today? Isn't that a wonderful thing about teaching at home? The excitement of something new. I feel optimistic about the week ahead and hoping my children will feel the same as Pooh Bear. TM : ) Quote of the Day 03/07/2010
