Inspiration and encouragement comes in many forms.  My inspiration for this post came this morning after reading Tara's blog, Mom Teaches 2.  I'm always trying to encourage my readers to have a new view, or take a deep breath, depending on what the day feels like.  But being homeschoolers, we usually do both!  Mahalo Tara for giving me a new view and for letting me take a deep breath.   TM : )

Do you remember why you picked homeschool for your children?  Just reading that sentence should take you back to the day you decided to homeschool.  I bet you remember very clearly why and how you were going to do it.  Now, go forward 6 months... do you still feel the same way?  Speed up a year, still remember?  You do, don't you?!  All the ideas, all the fears and the unknown, now how do you feel?  Not sure?  Let me help remind you, look at your kids... are they happy?, are they smart?, well adjusted?  Yes?  Big improvements over time?  You betcha!  Am I a mind reader?  No, I just remember that day we (my husband & I) decided to homeschool.   TM : )

This note is to thank all of you who have inspired me to keep on writing.  You all have encouraged me, thanked me, and written me the nicest comments.  I do this for you as much as I do this for me.  It helps to remind me why I homeschool to begin with.  Have a great rest of the weekend and mahalo once again for all your support.   TM : )

Motivate, excite, spur, stimulate, encourage... not just your children, but all who come in contact with you.  It just takes one person to motivate another and great ideas evolve.  Why not be the motivator?  TM : )

The more you do something, the better you get, it's inevitable. I mean, unless you are tone deaf and trying to be an opera singer!  But if your heart is in it, then tone deaf or not, you are going to succeed within yourself.  When you are confident and passionate about what you do, there is not one person who can take that away from you.  I take that back... there IS one person that might not like your singing, yourself.  Self is your biggest critic.  Buy some earplugs, put them in, and sing as loud as you can.  TM : )

Just recently, I have started looking at other people's blogs.  They are both inspiring and intimidating.  Inspiring in that, hey, they give you a different perspective.  I'm always up for a new view, I'm a homeschooler.  Intimidating in that, well, it almost makes me feel a tad insecure.  The beautiful pictures, the nicely written stories, ("Am I doing this right?"), almost dream like...  ("Oh no, should I be doing my blog like theirs?")...  Wait a second!  Stop staring at those lovely pictures and wake up!...  I'm me and I like me.  Thank you Self, for reminding me that it's okay to be, my own blog.  TM : )

Inspire, motivate, influence, guide, cheer, and encourage.  Not only should we practice the act of these words on a daily basis with our children, but we should remember to use these words to help out each other.  Have you seen someone you don't know yawn?  It's contagious, right?  So is inspiration.  TM : )
