Happy Hippity Hop! TM : ) Without Thinking 02/24/2010
Do you still get questioned by strangers about why your kids are out of school? I'm sure you do, because I still do after all these years. You've heard them all before, the questions are basically the same, "Is it a school holiday?" or "No school today?" Yes, we've heard it a million times and to keep an expressionless face that doesn't scream something like, "None of your business!" can sometimes be a bit of a strain. I think people just automatically say things without thinking. Here's an example that we're all familiar with: You see your neighbor washing their car, so you automatically say, "My car next!" In my preMommy days I was a flight attendant and when I greeted the passengers entering through the 1st Class Cabin (the only entry for all passengers) the response from them was always the same, "Did you save these seats for me?" Automatic. Without thinking. So instead of rolling your eyes at the next stranger that asks you the same old questions, do like I did when I was a flight attendant... Smile BIG, show authority, and hide behind the cockpit door! TM : ) 3 Comments Words from J.F.K. 02/15/2010

Checking In 02/13/2010
This will be short. It's a 3 day weekend and I want to get back to laughing at... whatever. : ) But I do want to check in with you. You have been visiting with me almost every day! Hey, we're friends and friends are there for each other. So, the next few days (Sunday & Monday) you will get my automated (okay, not really automated, I still come to this site and write in it) Quote of the Day. It's my mindless posts and there are so many good quotes out there to think about. Have a good rest of the weekend and I'll be back on Tuesday. TM : ) Thoughts on MLK Day 01/18/2010
Today I had my children tell me what they know about Rev.Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It was a nice surprise to hear my 6 year old tell me that MLK was the man that gave the famous speech, "I Have A Dream". A+ for you little one! Now, let's talk about what that speech means. "It means that anyone can sit where they want on the bus." I AM a proud homeschooling Mom! TM : ) "Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education." Martin Luther King Jr. Resolutions 12/31/2009
For 2010 I will hug my children more. I will work on my patience. I will practice the "little things", and I will remember to prioritize what's most important to me on a daily basis. I will smile often. And when I smile, I'll know that no matter what, it will be okay. TM : ) After Christmas Thoughts 12/26/2009
Looking under the Christmas Tree, there are unwrapped "possessions" everywhere. Which is the greatest? Which is my favorite? This quote caught my eye early this morning and it was clear to me what it meant... "The greatest possession is Self-Possession."- Ethel Watts Mumford I thought it would be the perfect after Christmas quote until I realized that the meaning was not so obvious to others. Here's what Self-Possession means to me: To own your entire being. To make choices based on who you are and choose it confidently. Everything you do, is up to you and how you go about it is your doing. Own it and don't have regrets. Change the word regret to learning experience, and then learn from it. Yep, I think Ethel was right on the mark. TM : ) P.S. What does Self-Possession mean to you? Leave a comment and inspire me. tm : ) Mele Kalikimaka 12/22/2009
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and Happy Holidays to all of you. Whatever occasion you celebrate at this time of the year, we all have something in common... giving thanks that we are able to teach our children the values that we find most important to us. As we reflect on our own childhood this season, we remember what meant so much to us and we are able to share that with our children. Lucky them... Lucky us. TM : ) P.S. As much as I enjoy visiting with you on a daily basis, I will be enjoying my family for the rest of the week. You do the same. tm : ) Christmas Cookies 12/19/2009
Are you ready? You know, for the big week of eating freshly baked cookies that you were supposed to make for your neighbors but realized that between you and your kids, 4 cookies is just not enough to give as a gift. Can I make a longer sentence then that? Well, I know I can eat as many cookies as words in that sentence, does that count? I have to go now. The remaining cookies are calling my name.
