Lunch Scholars Video... Duhhhhh... 02/05/2012
I had to share this video with you. When you're feeling down on yourself and you're wondering if you can homeschool any longer... watch this video and you'll remember why you do what you do. Keep up the good work and give yourself a BIG hug from me, because YOU can do it! TM : ) 4 Comments You Matter! 09/22/2011
Hello! You're here! And you're SO important! Remember that. TM : ) I'm doing it!! I'm homeschooling my kids and getting my laundry done! Whoo hoo! It's only taken me, hmmm, 8? 9 years to figure out how to do both? lol Okay, I'm kidding, BUT... I'm much more relaxed than I thought I would be and the laundry pile doesn't seem so scary anymore. Or maybe homeschool doesn't seem scary anymore. Ahhh, that must be it! I know what you're thinking... "Tracy, what are you talking about?" Well, think about it, the longer we do something, the better we get, the less scary it seems and the more relaxed we become. How's that? Good huh? You were trying to figure out how I was gonna put homeschool and laundry together and I did it! Have a WONDERFUL day! TM : ) How Are You? 04/14/2011
Okay, it's that time again. I'm gonna ask you, "How are you doing?" No, not just, "I'm okay." That's not what I'm asking. How are you doing with your homeschool life? Is it getting easier? Are you ready to pull your hair out? Or are you getting the hang of it? Usually at this time of the year you're starting to get the swing of things, but if you're not, DON'T WORRY. Look back and reflect on what you have accomplished. Give yourself credit and don't be so hard on yourself. Homeschool is a lifestyle and if you're new at it, it takes time to adjust. Not just you, but your entire family. And guess what? It's ever changing!! WHAT? Tell me it isn't so! Yes, it really is so. And you know what? That's what's GREAT about homeschool, the freedom and flexibility to be ever changing is a gift for your children. So leave me a comment and let me know how you're doing. I want to know. And I'll give you a little insight... my hair is still on my head, but trust me, I go through boxes of hair color! TM : ) Reach High 03/28/2011
To Launder or Not to Launder... 03/24/2011
Wow! Time sure flies when you have a full schedule. I must be a homeschool Mom! So tell me, when do you do your laundry? Tracy, what does this have to do with homeschool encouragement? I'm glad you asked! If you have lots of dirty clothes sitting in pile, hidden behind the door, then you probably were with your children at the library, or on a field trip, or at a math class. So good for you for having lots of laundry! And if you have just a small pile, then you did your laundry at 11:30 last night while the kids were asleep, you're supposed to be "off" for the day and your husband has a look on his face wondering what you are doing with a laundry basket at your hip and when are you going to get ready for bed as it is 11:30 at night! PHEW, talk about a run on sentence! So, if you have a huge pile of laundry, you're an AWESOME homeschool Mom! If you have a small pile of laundry, you're an AWESOME homeschool Mom! Laundry or no laundry, keep doing what you do. It's working! TM : ) Remember Why 03/22/2011
I came across this quote this morning and thought of those homeschool Moms that are just about at the end of their rope... "When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place." - Author Unknown Keep going, look at how smart your children are. Keep breathing, and know that this time that you have taken with your children will never be forgotten by you, or them. TM : ) Fortune for Today 01/31/2011
Today you will breathe, you will teach your kids, and you will be successful. How do I know this? Because I've been doing this for almost 9 years now and everyday I breathe. Everyday I teach my kids. And everyday as I look back over the years and compare it to today, I see the growth, the maturity, and the intelligence of my kids and I know that I am successful. You will be too. TM : ) For You Sandra 01/28/2011
You are not alone. You are on a journey that is so new to you that it is scary. And it is scary. And it's hard work. But you're doing it. You are taking the time to teach your girls to be great at anything they want to be. Wow. You're amazing! Tell yourself that right now. Come on, I know it sounds silly and whoever is near you will be saying, "What are saying Mom?" But just do it. And if I was there, I'd make you shout it. So I guess it's a good thing I'm not right there because then everyone in your household will think us loony! : ) Have a wonderful weekend and to the other readers of AskTracy leave a nice little comment for Sandra, as she could use it. AskTracy readers are the BEST! Hugs to all of you. TM : ) Homeschool Moms ROCK! 01/21/2011
I dedicate this post to all of you hard working homeschool Moms (and Dads). You are not forgotten and I know that you are doing the best you can at raising a family, and teaching your children to be the best at something they love. It is not an easy job. Keep going, keep breathing and know that you are appreciated! Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend! TM : ) | E Komo Mai
